I am travelling or going on Erasmus. What should I check?

Arrange protection before leaving. A short break, several months of study and a sporting trip can involve different needs.

1. Note your destination, dates, purpose and planned activities. Check that the policy covers the whole stay and those locations.
2. Check medical assistance, limits, repatriation and how to request help. Save the assistance number on your phone and in an offline copy.
3. For study, check the institution’s requirements and review liability, equipment and travel during your stay.
4. Compare existing cover with the proposed policy, including insurance linked to payment cards. Check activation requirements and maximum trip durations.

Do not choose on destination or price alone: duration, activities and assistance can make a difference away from home.
